A Resolution establishing a program entitled "The Miami Fire Cadet Program" and further
establishing a Special Revenue Project. The amount allocated for this program is $58,980.00 from

Background Information:
The City of Miami Fire Cadet Program is a training and education program designed for high
school students who are pursuing careers in the emergency medical services and enrolled in
Miami Dade County Public Schools EMS training programs. The Program will be carried out in
affiliation with Miami Dade County Public Schools (MDCPS) and will provide academic, career
and clinical training in EMS services to said students. The Program will prepare students to
become certified as Emergency Medical Technicians and will be conducted pursuant to the
guidelines of the Florida Department of Education.
