Purpose of Item: The nature of this item is to rescind the award to JAM Environmental & Vacuum Services, LLC for failure to honor their pricing for the provision of Waste Oil, Antifreeze, Non -Hazardous Petroleum Impacted Products, Collection, Disposal and Recycling, Citywide, and award of the bid to World Petroleum Corp., the second lowest responsive and responsible bidder, for an initial contractual period of two (2) years with options for renewal for two (2) additional one year periods. Allocating funds from the various sources of funds from the user departments and agencies, authorizing said services as needed, subject to availability of funds and budgetary approval at the time of need. Director Chief City Manager_ Page 1 of 2 On March 26, 2009, the Miami City Commission awarded an Invitation to Bid (No. 110051,2) to JAM Environmental & Vacuum Services, LLC, pursuant to Resolution No. R-09-0141, for the procurement of Waste Oil, Antifreeze, Non -Hazardous Petroleum Impacted Products, Collection, Disposal and Recycling, on a citywide, as needed contractual basis, for an initial contract period of two (2) years, with the option to renew for two (2) additional one (1) year periods. JAM Environmental & Vacuum Services, LLC experienced difficulty honoring contractual prices due to the increased costs of insurance premiums. As a result, the Purchasing Department is recommending rescission of award to JAM Environmental & Vacuum Services, LLC and award to World Petroleum Corp., the second lowest responsive and responsible bidder per bid specifications. Allocating funds from the various departments, General Operating Budget or other sources of funds as may become available and subject to budgetary approval at the time of need. The approximate total annual spend being $50,000.00. Page 2 of 2
