FOR THE FOLLOWING PROGRAMS: U o rn COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT, HOME INVESTMENT („LJ z r- -a z -i _j PARTNERSHIPS, HOUSING OPPORTUNITIES FOR PERSONS WITH AIDS, AND w (�/ C � THE EMERGENCY SHELTER GRANT FOR FISCAL YEAR 2009-2010; t" n _ > AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY o z n DOCUMENT(S) TO IMPLEMENT THE ACCEPTANCE OF SAID GRANT FUNDS J c y FOR SAID PURPOSE, CD M 11J r C/3 r1 WHEREAS, on May 1, 2009, the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development ("U.S. HUD") advised the City of Miami ("City") of the entitlement grants to be received by the City under the following programs: Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG"), Home Investment Partnerships ("HOME"), Housing Opportunities For Persons With AIDS ("HOPWA"), and the Emergency Shelter Grant ("ESG"); and WHEREAS, funds to be granted to the City under said programs are: (1) $8,305,859 to the CDBG Program, (2) $5,006,326 to the HOME Program (3) $12,599,526 to the HOPWA, and (5) $363,734 to the ESG Program; and WHEREAS, the Administration recommends accepting U.S. HUD Entitlement Grant Funds, in the total amount of $26,275,445 as stated herein, for the following programs: CDBG, HOME, HOPWA, and ESG for Fiscal Year 2009-2010; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The acceptance of entitlement grant funds from U.S. HUD, in the total amount of $26,275,445, as stated herein, for the following programs, is authorized: (1) $8,305,859, to the CDBG Program, (2) 5,006,326, to the HOME Program, (3) $12,599,526, to the HOPWA, and (5) $363,734 to the ESG Program. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized{1} to execute the necessary documents) to implement the acceptance of said grant funds for said purpose. Section 4. BRU CITY AT ORNEY Footnotes: {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including, but not limited to, those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2}If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission. THIS DOCUMENT IS A SUBSTITUTION TO ORIGINAL BACKUP.
