Background Information: On April 28, 2008, the Board of the Southeast Overtown/Park West and Omni Community Redevelopment Agencies ("CRA") awarded the City of Miami Police Department a grant in the amount of $343,392 to underwrite a portion of the costs associated with the implementation of a Police Visibility Pilot Program The Police Visibility Grant Program consists of enhanced police services including, increased patrols, assistance to homeless in obtaining services from local agencies and an increase in the number of special operations. On April 27, 2009, the CRA's Board authorized a renewal of the grant in an amount not to exceed $344,000.
