AGENDA ITEM SUMMARY FORM CONTINUED
Background Information:
On February 17, 2009, the President of the United States signed the American
Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
On March 6, 2009, the United States Department of Housing And Urban Development
("HUD") informed the City of Miami that a grant in the amount of $2,218,946 in
Community Development Block Grant — Recovery Act ("CDBG-R") funds has been
awarded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
The CDBG-R is designed to stimulate the economy through measures that modernize
the City's infrastructure, improve energy efficiency and conservation through
rehabilitation or retrofitting of existing buildings, and expand educational opportunities
and access to health care.
The Administration recommends the acceptance of a CDBG-R grant from HUD in the
amount of $2,218,946 through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
