EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Gibson GuitarTown is a public arts project that supports the community through
proceeds raised for local charities and the opportunity to drive tourism and citywide
goodwill. Because this is a charity project the GuitarTown financials are administered by
the Gibson Foundation.
Gibson GuitarTown features a series of ten -foot Gibson fiberglass Les Paul sculptures
which are painted by local visual artists and tied to celebrity musicians who autograph
or help in designing them.
In addition to the ten -foot sculptures, there are also a series of regular size Epiphone
guitars, which are also painted by visual artists and secondary to the sculptures.
Together this offering gives a city an'artist exhibit of musical guitars that lend vibrant
colors, unusual tourist attractions and statuary to the city landscape. Many draw
worldwide media attention.
Gibson GuitarTown has completed programs in Nashville, Austin, London and Orlando.
