Summer Food Service Program

Justification for Award/Contract:
This contract will approve the selected vendor to provide Lunch and P.M. Supplements for the children participating in the City's
Summer Food Service Program, commencing on June 8, 2009 through August 14, 2009. Through this program the Parks Department
is able to serve approximately 132,055 lunches and 141,120 p.m. supplements snacks during the course of the program. Approximately
31 park sites participate in the Summer Food Service Program and approximately 2,790 kids will be enrolled in the program.
Many of the children participating in the Summer Food Service Program are from low income families and the USDA and DOE
approved meals are a very important part of their health and well being. It is the State of Florida, Department of Education's goal to
provide as many children as possible with healthy meals.
