Re: Donation of $14,200 for the Sponsorship of a Project SEARCH Miami student to work in
the City of Miami for One Year
Dear Mr. DeLucca,
We are in receipt of your letter dated April 22, 2009 addressed to me regarding a cash donation of
$14,200 for the sponsorship of a Project SEARCH Miami student to work for one year here at the
City of Miami's Miami Riverside Center. We can assure you that the Department of Parks and
Recreation will establish a Special Revenue account where your donation will be placed to pay for
the sponsorship of a selected student to work in the classification of Worker Trainee, which is a part
time position. The position will remain active until the donated funds are exhausted or another
source of funds is identified which may result in an employment period of more than one year.
In accordance, with Ordinance No. 12271, Section 18-115 adopted by the City of Miami
Commission on second and final reading August 22, 2002, the City Manager has the authority to
accept donations up to an estimated value of $25,000 on behalf of the City of Miami. Therefore, as
the City Manager, I formally and gratefully accept the above referenced donation on. behalf of the
City of Miami.
We would like to thank you for this donation and can assure you that the Department of Parks and
Recreation Department will ensure that your donation is going towards the sponsorship of one of this
year's students. Your support and dedication to individuals with disabilities is truly remarkable.
Sincerely,
Pedro G, Hernandez
