Thompson City Clerk References: May 14, 2009 Agenda Enclosures: List of members The Code Enforcement Board was created to issue orders having the force of law commanding whatever steps are necessary to bring a Code violation into compliance. Florida Statutes Section 162.05(2) requires members of the Code Enforcement Board to be residents of the City of Miami. City Code Section 2-812 states that whenever possible, the board is to consist of an architect, a businessperson, an engineer, a general contractor, a subcontractor, and a realtor. Two (2) appointments are needed at this time: • Vice Chair Spence -Jones has one (1) nomination for a seat currently held by: 1. Leroy Jones, incumbent, whose term expired April 13, 2009. • Commissioner Sarnoff has one (1) nomination for a seat currently held by: 1. Vacancy (due to the resignation of Bill Mathisen). For your convenience, we have included a copy of the current membership of said board. By copy of this memorandum, we are requesting the Agenda Office to place this issue on the May 14, 2009 Commission agenda.
