Direct( Chief City Manage Page I of 1 AGENDA ITEM SUMMARY FORM CONTINUED Background Information: On February 17, 2009, the President of the United States signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 which includes the Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re -Housing Program ("HPRP"). The HPRP provides financi6l assistance and relocation/stabilization services to households facing financial difficulties in order to prevent homelessness. The United States Department of Housing And Urban Development ("HUD") has advised the City of Miami that a grant in the amount of $3,392,918 has been awarded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 for the implementation of HPRP. The Administration recommends the acceptance of a grant from HUD through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, in the amount of $3,392,918 for the implementation of the HPRP.
