Subject: Resolution Establishing New Special Revenue Account and Appropriating Funds from the
State of Florida Agency for Health Care Administration for the Parks and Recreation Department.
Purpose of Item:
The purpose of this item is to establish a new Special Revenue Project entitled :"Programs for the
Developmentally Disabled, 2008-2011," and accept an agreement from the Florida Agency for Health
Care Administration (ARCA) in the total estimated amount of $600,582 for the period covering July
1, 2008 through July 1, 2011. This, supports the programs and activities administered by the
Department of Parks and Recreation's Program for Persons with Disabilities Division.
Background Information:
The Department of Parks and Recreation's Program for Persons with Disabilities Division operates
programs and activities year round for persons with disabilities. These programs are funded in part by
grants such as the Florida ARCA. It is estimated that total amount of $600,582 will be obtained from
AHCA to fund programs for the next several years specifically from July 2008 to July 2011. This
resolution formally accepts and appropriates this agreement allowing the City to use said funds in
support of the programs operated by the Parks and Recreation Department.
