Dear Chief Timon y:
f
I am writing to update you on exciting GILEE and ILEE developments. The
enclosed 2008 program highlights and the 2008 sponsors booklet are truly
indicative of GILEE's achievements and support. GILEE is an award-winning
program whose accomplishments to date would not have been possible
without your support, the support of our many sponsors including corporate
partners, the law enforcement community, friends, GILEE graduates, host
countries, and Georgia State University.
GILEE & ILEE have a measurable impact and the demand for our programs
continues to grow in Georgia, around the nation and overseas. In 2008 we
carried out a record total of 15 programs and 2009 promises to be as busy!
The Public Safety Partnerships endowment secures the program's future, but
the annual yield currently provides only about 4% of the amount needed to
maintain our programming level. Therefore, it is critical to have a successful
fund-raising effort. Our goal for 2009 is to raise $500,000 for operating
expenses. With the current challenging economy and the growing law
enforcement needs, your support is more important than ever before.
Please review the enclosed information and consider increasing your support
of GILEE this year. Checks may be made payable to "Georgia State
University Foundation." Credit cards are also accepted. I have attached the
appropriate form (and envelope) for your convenience. You can also visit
littp://www2,gsu.edu/—wwwgiv/give/online.html to give securely on-line
(check "OTHER' and then type in: "for GILEE"). All gifts to GILEE
through the Georgia State University Foundation are fully tax-deductible as
provided by law.
On behalf of GILEE and ILEE, thank you for your generosity and commitment
to this program. Your support truly makes a difference.
