1,828 emergency responders from the Urban Area have completed the 2 -day, 16 -hour course. Learners have come from
68 different agencies in South Florida. The largest number of trainees have come from Miami -Dade Fire Rescue and City
of Miami Fire Rescue. Initially the grant covered learners in Broward, Palm Beach and Monroe Counties. During the last
contract period only learners from Miami -Dade County were trained under the contract. The following is a demographic
summary of the leamer population for the 4 year period to date.

Learners complete written precourse and postcourse examinations, each consisting of 25 multiple-choice questions.
Maximum score is 100.

The training provided through the ERT course has a large impact on knowledge acquisition. The improvement from
precourse to postcourse assessments is truly remarkable.
In conclusion, the training, knowledge and skill acquisition that has occurred through the support of this program has
helped to improve and unify the emergency response to terrorism throughout the Urban Area. We look forward to working
with UASI Miami in the future to meet the training needs of South Florida's emergency responders.
