Dear Chief Duran:
Please find attached a summary of the impact of the Emergency Response to Terrorism
Program funded by the Miami Urban Area Security Initiative from August 2004 through
December 2009.
The diverse learner population served is consistent with the mission of UASI and includes pre-
hospital first responders and hospital-based personnel. Our data demonstrates consistency in
course delivery and high learner achievement in both cognitive knowledge and skills. The
learner satisfaction and course evaluations have been excellent throughout the program and
self-confidence in responding to an act of terrorism is drastically improved after course
completion.
Please contact us if you need any additional information.
Sincerely,
Ivette Motola, MD, MPH
