DEPARTMENT will provide outreach services to the homeless population of the City of Miami in order to: a) Obtain a count of the homeless population residing within the City of Miami. b) Provide transitional housing assistance via referrals to shelter housing. c) If not transitional housing is available, refer the homeless person to contracted temporary shelters. d) Provide assistance in obtaining permanent housing. e) Provide referrals for medical and psychological counseling and Supervision. f) Provide referrals for employment counseling. g) Provide referrals for nutritional counseling. h) Provide referral for substance abuse treatment and counseling. I ) Provide assistance in obtaining other Federal, State, and locals assistance including Veteran's benefits; Aid to Families with Dependent Children, General Assistance, and Food Stamps. J ) Provide assistance with other services such as child care, transportation, job placements and job training. 2.
