Comes Now! Dr. Mae Christian a resident at 4824 N. W. 15 Ct., Miami, Fla. 33142, who was born on 13
St. and 3 Ct. in a house July 5, 1945 the ending of World War II. I was displaced from Over Town.. 1 am a
product of family that was some of the original pioneers in colored town, Over Town ,and The Magic City.
PH 109-001.80 is a Resolution of The City of Miami to sale a strip of land on 70' Avenue and 19 St. to The
Market LLC for $ 15,000.00. T he only corporation registered active by that name in the state of
Florida Corporation has a principle office located as of 3/9/09at 401 Channelside Walk Way in Tampa, Fla.
33602 US with Hannon Mark S. at the above address listed as the registered agent as of 3/9/09 (see
attached corporation document) Before that the Corporation was Global Transient Center LC With the
same Document number L02000028679 registered by Wayne Goffrey at 1200 Brickell Ave. Suite 220
Miami, Fla. 33131-3207 US and managed by Isaia, Daniel 3562 West Fairview, Coconut Grove, Fla.
33133. (see attached) Who are these people? And they are out of town and we have our community that
need a project on this lot to up grade our own economic development.
Over Town is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Miami 1896 City of Miami Corporation when Henry
Flagler built the railroad needed a place for his workers to live ( African American) Be it resolved that
Over Town is an Historic District and deserves Historic Designation for Historical Preservation, with all
land sites identified, marked and preserved and protected.
O)n Thursday March 5, 2009 Commissioner Spence Jones had a meeting at the Youth Center located at
450 N. W. 14 St. This meeting was concerning the Marlin's Stadium and a discussion to expand the CRA
boundaries of Over Town from 5 St. to 20 St. and from 7"' Ave. to Biscayne Blvd. It has not been thirty
days and here comes Market LLC Corporation trying to purchase historical land for $15,000.00. Without
any citizen participation, since the community was just informed of the new boundaries on March 5, 2009.
This land would be sold without the citizens' involvement. What project do the people want. Maybe a
Cultural facility, Small Business Enterprise an entertainment corridor to get tourist dollars and stimulate
Over Town, with economic development opportunities. This is an opportunity to start making things right
for our African American Community and we are a part of this city's history.
I have seen Over Town go through Urban Renewal, Urban Development and Community Development
Projects (CDC) I worked with Mr. Dewey Knight Interim County Manager and Bill Turner on the Dade
County School Board to save Booker T Washington through Historic Preservation and designed the Culmer
Center with Architect Mr. Middlebrooks along with supplying mixed used houses on 20 Street and l ave.
These projects should be designated historic since they represent the only other projects completed along
with those done by Dr. Fields. We do not need any more land bartered away.
It is time to protect the value of African American History and land in Over Town, Colored Town, The
Magic City.
