JUSTIFICATION:
The Miami Police Department is routinely involved in several Protracted Complex
Investigations. As authorized under Section 932.7055, Florida Statutes, as amended, the monies
requested will be utilized to defray the cost of these comprehensive investigations. This allocation
is necessary to replenish the main protracted account with funding for the purchase or rental of
equipment and supplies, overtime and other special investigative costs required for the successful
completion of these investigations.
HOW IS THIS ITEM GOING TO ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF SERVICE TO THE
CUSTOMER / CITIZENS?
It is in the best interest of the community and the City of Miami to continue to fund these
expenditures through monies generated as a result of seizures to help the Department of Police
conduct protracted and/or complex investigations.
