Chief �llfo� City Manager Page 1 of 2 Agenda Item Summary Form Continued Background Information: For the past several years, approximately twenty-six (26) governmental entities have participated in Cooperative Purchasing in Southeast Florida. The Southeast Florida Governmental Purchasing Cooperative Group was formed in an effort to provide cost savings and cost avoidances to all entities by utilizing the buying power of combined requirements for common, basic items. The City of Deerfield Beach issued Bid No. 2006-07/23 as the lead agency, on behalf of the City of Deerfield Beach and various other governmental entities included in the Southeast Florida Governmental Purchasing Cooperative Group. Nineteen (19) bids were mailed and three (3) responses were received on March 22, 2007. Award was to Door Systems of South Florida, the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, for an initial term of two (2) years with the option to renew for two (2) additional two (2) year periods. The City of Miami will be participating in this contract's first renewal period, with one (1) remaining additional two (2) year extension, and in any further extensions and/or replacement contracts issued by the Southeast Florida Governmental Purchasing Cooperative Group.
