Purpose of Item: Resolution accepting funds and authorizing the City Manager to execute all necessary Local Agency Program (LAP) Agreements with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for various federal stimulus projects. Background Information: The City of Miami (City) applied for and was awarded federal grants as part of the federal stimulus package for transportation projects, and FDOT will serve as the pass through for the federal funds. LAP agreements with FDOT will be required in the various amounts in order to access the funding awards, and the final list of projects and exact amounts have yet to be approved. In consideration of the short timeframe allotted to provide FDOT with the necessary documents to obligate the federal funds, the City Manager requests authority to accept funds and execute the necessary LAP agreements for all stimulus projects in the final, federally approved funding amount. This resolution is necessary in order to meet FDOT's deadline requiring signed LAP agreements along with project documentation by April 17ti'. All LAPs executed pursuant to this resolution and final award amounts will be subsequently reported back to City Commissioners by the City Manager. Currently, we expect the following projects to be funded in these amounts; however, additional projects may be added and funding amounts are subject to change. Funds are to be appropriated by separate resolution(s). -Public Works Citywide ADA Sidewalk Improvements Project $1,028,428 -Capital Improvements Brickell Key Bridge, B-30634 $1,713,201 -Capital Improvements NE 2nd Avenue Improvements, B-78508 (two segments) $6,470,966 -Capital Improvements M.R.
