Purpose of Item:
A Resolution of the Miami City Commission, with attachments, authorizing the City Manager to
submit an application for grant funding to the Florida Inland Navigation District ("FIND") Waterways
Assistance Program, in substantially the attached form, in an amount not to exceed $35,000, for the

Background Information:
The Department of Public Facilities is seeking authorization to apply for $17,500 in grant funding
from the Florida Inland Navigation District for design, engineering, permitting, and other professional
services for the Marine Stadium Marina Seawall Replacement Project - Phase f, which will replace
approximately 390 linear feet of seawall along Biscayne Bay on Virginia Key. The total estimated
cost of this phase of the project is not to exceed $35,000. The existing seawall on Virginia Key is
over 40 years old and in a state of advanced deterioration. The seawall has cracked and settled in
several locations. The existing seawall supports operations at the Marine Stadium Marina. Marine
Stadium Marina is one of South Florida's largest full-service dry storage facilities; the 300 berth
marina is capable of handling vessels up to 45 feet with a gross vessel weight of 18,000 pounds.
