A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE
ALLOCATION OF FUNDS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $1,000, TO THE
AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY, TO CO-SPONSOR THE AMERICAN CANCER
SOCIETY'S RELAY FOR LIFE EVENT TO BE HELD AT SHENANDOAH PARK,
FROM MAY 15, 2009 THROUGH MAY 16, 2009; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
THE DISTRICT 4 SPECIAL EVENTS BUDGET, ACCOUNT NO.
001000.921054.6.289; AUTHORIZING THE WAIVER OF FEES, IN THE AMOUNT
OF $320, FOR THE USE OF SHENANDOAH PARK FROM MAY 15, 2009
THROUGH MAY 16, 2009, FOR SAID PURPOSE; AUTHORIZING THE WAIVER
OF FEES, IN THE AMOUNT OF $600, FOR THE USE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI'S
SNOWMOBILE FOR SAID EVENT; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO GRANT WAIVERS OF THE NOISE RESTRICTIONS CONTAINED
IN SECTIONS 36-4 AND 36-5 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA,
AS AMENDED, FROM MAY 15, 2009 THROUGH MAY 16, 2009, FOR SAID
PURPOSE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The allocation of funds, in an amount not to exceed $1,000, to the American Cancer
Society, to co-sponsor the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life event to be held at Shenandoah
Park, from May 15, 2009 through May 16, 2009, is authorized, with funds allocated from the District 4
Special Events Budget, Account No. 001000.921054.6.289.
Section 2. The waiver of fees, in the amount of $320, for the use of Shenandoah Park from May
15, 2009 through May 16, 2009, for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life and the waiver of
fees, in the amount of $600, for the use of the City of Miami's Showmobile for said event, is
authorized.
Section 3. The City Manager is authorized{1} to grant waivers to the noise restrictions found in
Sections 36-4 and 36-5 of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended, from May 15, 2009
through May 16, 2009, for said purpose.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{2}

Footnotes:
{1) The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter
and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
