Purpose of Item: To appropriate new funding sources for capital projects, modify a previously approved grant amount, and amend the Capital Improvements Appropriations Resolution No. 08-0698 to reflect said changes. Background Information: The Capital Improvements Appropriations Resolution No. 08-0698, approved on December 11, 2008, needs to be amended to reflect several funding changes. Funds in the amount of $1,600,000 from the Bayfront Park Management Trust (the "Trust") are being appropriated subsequent to the Joint Participation Agreement between the City and the Trust to facilitate improvements to the baywalk. Also included in the amendments are a contribution from the Special Revenue Fund for construction of the Green Lab project, a contribution from the General Fund for various capital projects, including' $1,324,000 for land acquisition for the Public Works Maintenance Yard; (continued on page 2) Budget Impact Analysis Yes Is this item related to revenue? Director Chief •ity Manager_ Page l of 2 Background Information continued: and contributions from the Coral Reef and Biscayne Bay Yacht Clubs for the Dinner Key Seaplane Channel Markers project, as stipulated by the easement agreements. Further, $7,701,535 of private' developer dollars contributed towards the Affordable Housing Trust are being appropriated into the' Public Facilities fund to enable an operating transfer of revenue from the Public Facilities fund to the CD — Affordable Housing Trust Fund. Finally, the amount for the State of Florida Division of Emergency Management grant for the North District Police Station Wind Retrofit project B -30592A is being decreased by $9,295 pursuant to the grant agreement modification approved per Res. No. 08- 0626. The aforementioned items require that the Capital improvements Appropriations Resolution No. 08-0698 be amended to reflect said changes to capital appropriations. Page 2 of 2
