HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationFile Number: 09-00130 and Resolution Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION EXTENDING THE HOURS OF SALE FOR ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES FOR CONSUMPTION ON THE PREMISES OF THE ICE PALACE, LOCATED AT 59 NORTHWEST 14TH STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA AND KARU & Y RESTAURANT, LOCATED AT 71 NORTHWEST 14 STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA, TO ACCOMMODATE VENUES ASSOCIATED WITH THE WINTER MUSIC CONFERENCE, FROM 5:00 A.M.-12 P.M. ON TUESDAY, MARCH 24, 2009, THROUGH MONDAY, MARCH 30, 2009, PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 4/ARTICLE 1/SECTION 4-3, ENTITLED "ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES/IN GENERAL/HOURS DURING WHICH SALES ALLOWED; SUNDAY SALES." WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") is fortunate to have the Winter Music Conference in Miami; WHEREAS, the Winter Music Conference has a loyal international following; and WHEREAS, City's businesses anticipate generating significant revenues; and WHEREAS, the City anticipates receiving tax revenues; and WHEREAS, the hotels, restaurants, food and beverage establishments in the City will all benefit; and WHEREAS, the Winter Music Conference is one of the world's top music events; and WHEREAS, the Winter Music Conference has a good public safety record; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and finding contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The hours of sale for alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises of venues associated with the Winter Music Conference, at the Ice Palace, located at 59 Northwest 14 Street, Miami, Florida and Karu & Y Restaurant, located at 71 Northwest 14 Street, Miami, Florida, are extended from 5:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 24, 2009, through Monday, March 30, 2009, pursuant to Chapter 4/Article 1/Section 4-3, entitled "Alcoholic Beverages/In General/Hours during which sales allowed; Sunday sales." Section 3.
