Subject: Guardrail Installation and Repair
Purpose of Item:
The nature of this item is to establish a contract for Guardrail Installation and Repair on an as needed
basis from Fence Masters, Inc. for an initial contract period of one (1) year with the option to renew
for three (3) additional one-year periods, allocating funds from the various sources of funds from the
User Departments and Agencies, subject to the availability of funds and budget approval at time of
need.
Background Information:
The Purchasing Department has identified a need to establish a contract for Guardrail Installation and
Repair. This service will replace guardrails damaged by cars, replacement of defective or corroded
guardrails, and installation of new guardrails in areas that are lacking. On December 5, 2008, the
Purchasing Department issued Invitation to -Bid No. 108075. As required by the Procurement Code,
the IFB was advertised and issued on-line. Bids were due and two (2) bids were received on
December 29, 2008. Fence Masters, Inc. submitted the lowest responsive and responsible bid and is
therefore recommended for award. The estimated total contract value is $305,208.00.
