A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION RENAMING THE MINI PARK
LOCATED AT NORTHWEST 62ND STREET AND 12TH AVENUE, NIIAMI,
FLORIDA, TO "SHERDAVIA JENKINS PEACE PARK;" DIRECTING THE CITY
MANAGER TO TAKE ALL ADMINISTRATIVE ACTION NECESSARY TO
EFFECTUATE THE RENAMING OF SAID PARK.
WHEREAS, residents of District 5 have requested for the Simonoff Park located at 1850 Northwest
54th Street, Miami, Florida, to be renamed to Simonoff Floral Park and the Simonoff family has
indicated their support for the renaming request;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The Miami City Commission renames the mini park located at 62nd Street and 12th
Avenue, Miami, Florida, to the "Sherdavia Jenkins Peace Park."
Section 3. The City Manager is directed to take all administrative action necessary to effectuate
the renaming of said park.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of

{1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
