CLOSING, VACATING, ABANDONING AND DISCONTINUING FOR PUBLIC USE
THE ALLEY LOCATED BETWEEN NORTHWEST 7" COURT AND NORTHWEST 8"
AVENUE FROM NORTHWEST 12" STREET TO NORTHWEST 13" STREET.
Pursuant to Section 55-15 (c) of the Miami City Code, the Planning Department
has reviewed the proposed public right-of-way vacation and closure to determine
whether it is in the public interest, or whether the general public would benefit
from the vacation of the right-of-way.
The following findings have been made:
• It is found that this application was presented to the Plat and Street
Committee and the tentative Plat was approved with conditions. (See
attached analysis).
4J • It is found that the vacation of the alley will allow a unified development site
for a commercial project more specifically knows as "Extended Stay Hotel".
• It is found that the alley is not improved and is not utilized for pedestrian or
traffic circulation.
• It is found that the proposed easement vacation comply with Section 55-15
(c) of the Miami City Code for public benefit since the proposal will not affect
the core service activities and the applicant is proposing new public and
emergency accesses and public utility easements.
Based on these findings, the Planning Department recommends approval
of the request.
