The City of Miami Parks and Recreation Department has requested a grant, in the amount of $1,000,000, to fund the design and construction of a skate park at Biscayne Park that would stimulate active use of the park by residents as a place to play and exercise in a safe environment. On November 3, 2008, The Board of Commissioners of the Omni Redevelopment District Community Redevelopment Agency adopted Resolution No. 08- 0057, authorizing the award of a grant, in an amount not to exceed $1,000,000 to the City of Miarni for the design and construction the skate park.
