Final Action Date:
A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A COMMUNITY SPACE
LEASE AGREEMENT ("AGREEMENT"), IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED
FORM, BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI AND MIAMI-DADE COUNTY
HOUSING AGENCY, FOR THE USE OF APPROXIMATELY 1,345 SQUARE
FEET OF SPACE AT THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 460 NORTHEAST 2ND
AVENUE, MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS A POLICE BIKE PATROL OFFICE AND
STORAGE SPACE; PROVIDING FOR THE FOLLOWING: 1) A TERM OF ONE
(1) YEAR, COMMENCING JANUARY 26, 2009, WITH TWO (2) ONE-YEAR
OPTIONS TO RENEW, SUBJECT TO THE MUTUAL CONSENT OF THE
PARTIES; AND 2) PAYMENT OF ANNUAL RENT IN THE AMOUNT OF ONE
DOLLAR ($1.00) DURING THE TERM; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO MAKE NON -SUBSTANTIVE AMENDMENTS AND EXECUTE
AMENDMENTS, RENEWALS AND ALL OTHER NECESSARY DOCUMENTS
FOR SAID PURPOSE, WITH TERMS AND CONDITIONS AS MORE
PARTICULARLY SET FORTH IN THE AGREEMENT.
WHEREAS, the Miami -Dade County Housing Agency ("County") owns the property located at
460 Northeast 2nd Avenue, Miami, Florida (the "Premises"); and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") Police Department has an urgent need to rent this space
for office and bike storage space for a bike patrol unit; and
WHEREAS, the County is willing to offer the Premises to the City for a nominal $1.00 annual
rent payment in exchange for the increased police presence and visibility to be afforded by the City
Police Department and the City is desirous of renting the Premises;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted
by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized{1} to execute a Community Space Lease
Agreement ("Agreement'), in substantially the attached form, with the County, for the use of
approximately 1,345 square feet of space located at the Premises as a Police Bike Patrol office and
storage space, providing for the following: 1) a term of one (1) year, commencing January 26, 2009,
with two (2) additional one-year options to renew, subject to the mutual consent of the parties; and 2)
payment of annual rent in the amount of One Dollar ($1.00) during the term.
Section 3. The City Manager is further authorized{1} to make non -substantive amendments

Footnotes:
(1) The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements
that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed
by applicable City Charter and Code provisions.
(2) If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of
ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this
Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City
Commission.
