the City of a Police Extra -Duty Detail Scheduling and Management Services

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Miami City Commission will hold a Public Hearing on Thursday, July
27, 2023 at 9:00 AM to consider the award of contract to the for -profit
organization listed below through pass -through funds from The Children's
Trust, for the 2023-2024 contract period. Families First parenting program
is designed to incorporate literacy skills, parent -child activities, strengthen
oral language development, give parents a venue to share concerns, learn
new behavior strategies, and connect parents to a variety of support services
and other such activities in conjunction with the following grant from The
Children's Trust to the City, and to consider the City Manager's recommendations
and finding that competitive negotiation methods are not practicable or
advantageous regarding these issues:
School Year "Families First Parenting Program", various elementary schools
and City childcare centers in the city, -Exceptional Consulting for Educational
Leaders, Inc.,

This action is being considered pursuant to Section 18-85 (A) of the Code

TO MACEDONIA MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH OF MIAMI, INC, A
FLORIDA NOT FOR PROFIT CORPORATION ("MACEDONIA"), IN ORDER
TO CONSTRUCT AND COMPLETE A NEW CLASSROOM ANNEX AT THE
MACEDONIA OWNED PROPERTY LOCATED AT 3515 S. DOUGLAS ROAD
("PROJECT") WHICH WILL, UPON COMPLETION, PROVIDE DEDICATED
LEARNING SPACE FOR AFTERSCHOOL TUTORING AND SUMMER
PROGRAMMING WHICH WILL EXPAND EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES
AND IMPROVE THE READING ABILITY OF STUDENT'S PRE-K THROUGH
8TH GRADE, AND WILL FURTHER CREATE ADDITIONAL SPACE TO
ACCOMMODATE OTHER COMMUNITY PROGRAMMING, SUBJECT TO
ALL FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL LAWS THAT REGULATE THE USE
OF SUCH FUNDS FOR SAID PURPOSE; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS
NECESSARY, ALL IN FORMS ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY,
FOR SAID PURPOSE.
All interested persons are invited to appear at the meeting and may be
heard with respect to the proposed ordinance(s). Should any person desire
to appeal any decision of the City Commission with respect to any matter
to be considered at this meeting, that person shall ensure that a verbatim
record of the proceedings is made including all testimony and evidence
upon which any appeal may be based (F.S. 286.0105).
Pursuant to Miami City Code Section 2-33(o), whenever a scheduled City
Commission meeting is cancelled or is not held due to a lack of a quorum
or other emergency, a special City Commission meeting will be automatically
scheduled for the Tuesday immediately following the cancelled meeting. In
the event of one of the aforementioned circumstances, the special meeting
would be held on August 1, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. in the City Commission
chambers located at Miami City Hall, 3500 Pan American Drive, Miami, FL
33133. All of the scheduled agenda items from that cancelled meeting
shall automatically be scheduled as an agenda item at the special City
Commission meeting. The City Clerk shall notify the public of the special
meeting that is to take place by placing a notice of the special City
Commission meeting at the entrance of City Hall and the City's main
administrative building, placing a notice on the City's website, and, if
feasible, placing an ad in a newspaper of general circulation before the
special meeting on the immediately following Tuesday. There shall be no
additional notice by publication required for any such scheduled agenda
item that is moved to the special City Commission meeting.
