Wynwood BID Establishment and purpose: The Wynwood Business Improvement District Board of the city ("BID board") is herewith established for a period of ten years to improve and strengthen the area known as the Wynwood Arts District as more particularly described in Resolution No. 13-0228 adopted on June 13, 2013 through promotion, management, marketing, and other similar services, including but not limited to, coordination, funding, implementation and maintenance of infrastructure improvements, and other projects. The Wynwood Arts District shall be described herein as the "area." The BID board shall be the board charged with managing the Wynwood Business Improvement District ("BID"). Wynwood BID Mission Statement: The mission of the Wynwood Business Improvement District is to solidify Wynwood (the "District") as a globally recognized center for art, creativity and culture with visibly clean and safe streets while enhancing the streetscape, artistic programming, and neighborhood advocacy to promote Wynwood's pedestrian activity and overall sense of place. Wynwood BID January 17, 2023 3 \'u N1PpOYEYENf pSIgICI WYNWOOD Submitted into the public record for item(s) SI• J on 1 a'Z 10123, City Clerk Wynwood Business Improvement District Assessment Methodology 2023-2033 ❑ On January 17, 2023, the Wynwood Business Improvement District board of directors used the CPI index, to remain fair to our stakeholders, and found that there has been an increase since 2013, totaling 16.5% increase in assessment, which would equate to 121 cents in 2023/2024. As of FY'20, the assessments have been included in the Miami Dade County Tax Roll, to minimize the work -load on our City of Miami Attomey's office, when liens need to be filed. ❑ The Wynwood Business Improvement District's annual assessment rates for the properties, unless stated otherwise, shall be based on square footage. For years 11-20 and shall be as follows: ❑ Retail, office, and restaurant begin at $0.31 in year 11, with a possible increase by one cent ($0.01) each year after 2023-2024, if the board decides to vote on an increase. ❑ The Wynwood Business Improvement District will still be the cheapest assessment, from years 11-20, when compared to Lincoln Road, Coconut Grove BID. We also paid for the barriers and branding on barricades for one entire year. ❑ The Wynwood BID was the first neighborhood to install LED boards on sidewalks to assist the visitors of our 50-block district. ❑ The Wynwood BID is now the first BID in SE Florida to donate $3.5 million dollars towards affordable/workforce housing for Wynwood Works, in tandem with the City of Miami housing department.
