A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO SUBMIT A REQUEST TO THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION ("FDOT") FOR A PUBLIC PURPOSE CONVEYANCE OF FDOT-
OWNED LAND, CONTAINING APPROXIMATELY TWO THOUSAND FOUR
HUNDRED -THREE (2,403) SQUARE FEET, LOCATED AT 842 NORTHWEST 3RD
AVENUE ("PARCEL") AND ADJACENT TO CITY OF MIAMI ("CITY") LAND LOCATED
AT 310 NORTHWEST 9TH STREET, TO THE CITY FOR DEVELOPMENT AND
MAINTENANCE OF A MONUMENT SIGN IN OVERTOWN; FURTHER AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT, PURSUANT TO A QUITCLAIM DEED ("DEED"),
IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, FROM FDOT TO THE CITY,
FOR CONVEYANCE OF THE PARCEL, AT NO COST TO THE CITY; FURTHER
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL NECESSARY
DOCUMENTS, INCLUDING AMENDMENTS AND MODIFICATIONS TO SAID
DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, AS MAY BE
NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE SAID PUBLIC PURPOSE CONVEYANCE.

DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, AS MAY BE
NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE SAID PUBLIC PURPOSE CONVEYANCE.
WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Transportation ("FDOT"), is the owner of a certain
land in containing approximately two thousand four hundred -three (2,403) square feet, located
at 842 Northwest 3rd Avenue ("Parcel"); and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") is requesting a public purpose conveyance from
FDOT to transfer the Parcel to the City at no cost; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to CRA Resolution, CRA-R-17-0054, Southeast Overtown/Park
West Community Redevelopment Agency ("CRA") is authorized to enter into agreements with
the City for the develop and maintenance of the monument sign; and
WHEREAS, the City Department of Real Estate and Asset Management will reach out to
FDOT for the potential conveyance of the Parcel to the City; and
WHEREAS, the acceptance of the Parcel by the City for the monument sign is in the
best interest of the City and Overtown residents;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized' to submit a request to FDOT for the
conveyance of the Parcel to the City.
Section 3. The City Manager is further authorized' to accept, pursuant to a Deed, in a
form acceptable to the City Attorney, from FDOT to the City, the conveyance of the Parcel, at no
cost to the City.
Section 4. The City Manager is further authorized' to execute all necessary documents,
including amendments and modifications to said documents, in a form acceptable to the City
Attorney, as may be necessary to effectuate said public purpose conveyance.
Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
