ORDINANCE NO,
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 8719,
ADOPTED OCTOBER 26, 1977, THE SUMMARY GRANT APPROPRIA,,
TIONS ORDINANCE, AS AMENDED; BY CORRECTING ORDINANCE
NO. 8795, ADOPTED APRIL 27, 1978; BY REDUCING THE
CONTRIBUTION TO AFRICAN SQUARE PARK TRUST AND AGENCY
FUND IN AN AMOUNT OF $61,991 FOR CETA POSITIONS;
BY RESTORING THE SAME AMOUNT TO THE PUBLIC SERVICE
EMPLOYMENT PROGRANk (CETA TITLE II) TRUST AND AGENCY
FUND; CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION AND A SEVERA-
BILITY CLAUSE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 8719 on October
26, 1977 establishing resources and appropriations for grant funds antici-
pated by the City of Miami, Florida and for corresponding City cash match
requirements; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 8795, adopted April 27, 1978, amended
Ordinance No. 8719, the Summary Grant Ordinance, and established a new Trust
and Agency Fund entitled "African Square Park," by transferring from the
General Fund, Special Programs and Accounts, Contingent Fund, the amount of
$25,434, and by reducing from the Public Service Employment. Program
(CETA Title II) Trust and Agency Fund the amount of $61,991 for staff positions; and
WHEREAS, this procedure was adopted for the purpose of establishing
a combined program fund totalling $87,425 for African Square Park; and
WHEREAS, accounting procedures require that CETA Title II allocations
be dispersed directly from the original appropriation; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary and proper to correct Ordinance No. 8795 and
restore said amount of $61,991 to the Public Service Employment Program
(CETA Title II) appropriation; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 78-303, dated April 27, 1978 authorized the
City Manager to execute an agreement with the 62nd Street Community
Development Corporation for the operation and maintenance of African Square
Park, utilizing CETA positions for staff, for the period April 10, 1978, through
September 30, 1978, with funds allocated from the General Fund, Special .Programs
and Accounts, Contingent Fund, in the sum of $25,433.97, and a further alloca-
