ING ORANGE BOWL STADIUM PARKING CHARGES; MORE PARTICULARLY BY REPEALING SECTION 39-24(a) IN ITS ENTIRETY; PROVIDING A NEW SECTION 39-24(a) SETTING FORTH A FORMULA FOR DETERMINING THE COST OF SEASON RESERVED PARKING PASSES FOR PASSENGER CARS AND RECREATIONAL VEHICLES, BASED UPON THE NUMBER OF PRE - SCHEDULED GAMES IN A PARTICULAR YEAR BY THE UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI AND BY THE NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE FRANCHISE TEAM, RESPECTIVELY; CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION AND A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE. WHEREAS, the City desires to improve the efficiency and adaptability of the sale of season reserved -parking passes at the Orange Bowl parking lots for both the University of Miami and the National Football League professional football games scheduled at the Orange Bowl; and WHEREAS, the present ordinance setting a flat rate for season parking passes does not take into account that the number of games scheduled to be played at the Orange Bowl by these two major users, may vary from year to year; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. Subsection 39-24(a) of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, is hereby repealed in its entirety and a new Subsection 39-24(a) is hereby substituted therefor, as follows: "Sec. 39-24. Parking Charges. (a) Season passes permitting parking at the Orange Bowl Stadium reserved parking area on the day of any pre -scheduled football event to be played by either the University of Miami or the National Football League (NFL) teams during their respective seasons may be secured by payment of the following: (i) (a) $4.00, including state sales tax,per passenger car, multiplied by the number of pre -scheduled exhibition and regular season NFL professional football events. (b) $5.00, including state sales tax, per recreational vehicle, multiplied by the number of pre -scheduled exhibition and regular season NFL professional footbalX events.
