HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-78-0467RESOLUTION NO, 7 84 6 7 A RESOLUTION RATIFYING AND APPROVING A ONE YEAR EXTENSION OF EMPLOYMENT PAST THE AGE OF 70 FOR VIRGINIA LIEBERMAN, TYPIST CLERK II, POLICE DEPARTMENT, EFFECTIVE JULY 29, 1978 TO JULY 29, 1979, WITH PROVISION THAT IN THE EVENT OF A ROLL, - BACK OR LAYOFF, MS. LIEBERMAN, RATHER THAN A JUNIOR EMPLOYEE, WOULD BE AFFECTED. WHEREAS, the Civil Service Board, on June 27, 1978, unanimously recommended the approval of employment past the age of 70 for VIRGINIA LIEBERMAN, Typist Clerk II, Police Department; and WHEREAS, the City Physician has determined that the physical condition of said VIRGINIA LIEBERMAN is satisfactory for continued employment; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The granting of a one year extension of employment past the age of 70 for VIRGINIA LIEBERMAN, Typist Clerk II, Police Department, effect- ive July 29, 1978 to July 29, 1979, is hereby ratified and approved, with the provision that in the event of a rollback or layoff, MS. Krause .,y Executive Secretary Civil Service Board June 2,, 1978 civil Service Board Action on Request for Extension of Employment for Virginia Lieberman, Typist Clerk II, Police Department, from July 29, 1978 to July 29, 1979 At its meeting of June 27, 1978, the Civil Service Board considered the request of Virginia Lieberman, Typist Clerk II, Police Department, for an extension of her employment for a period of one (1) year, to be effective July 29, 1978 to July 29, 1979. The Board noted that Kenneth I. Harms, Chief of Police, has recommended approval of this request and that Dr. L. A. Toto, City Physician, has found Ms. Lieberman to be physically qualified to continue employment for the additional year. The Board voted to approve the request, with the provision that in the event of a rollback or layoff, Ms. Lieberman, rather than a junior employee, would be affected, noting that this is in accordance with past policy. Virginia Lie1.-erman is a highly valuable employee, experienced in handling accident reports, She is a loyal, hardworking employee who has had only 20 hours of I time during the past year. :per experience and expertise will prove particularly valuable during the coming eighteen months while the transition to computerized reporting is taking place. In addition, during this time of budget hardship, it is likely to prove difficult to find a replacement.
