A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PURCHASE
IN LIED' OF CONDEMNATION A SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENCE AND
ONE VACANT LOT COMPRISED OF 12,000 SQ. FT. OF LAND AREA
AND 1370 SQ. FT. BUILDING AREA, LOCATED AT 1131 SOUTHWEST
SECOND AVENUE, MIAMI, FLORIDA, FOR THE SUM OF SEVENTY
THOUSAND ($70,000.00) DOLLARS, AND ALLOCATING SEVENTY-TWO
($72,000.00) THOUSAND DOLLARS FROM FIRE FIGHTING, FIRE
PREVENTION & RESCUE FACILITY BOND FUNDS TO COVER THE COST
OF ACQUISITION FEE SIMPLE TITLE TO THIS PROPERTY AND OTHER
COSTS INCIDENTAL TO THE ACQUISITION.
WHEREAS, the property located at 1131 Southwest Second Avenue,
Miami, Florida, is proposed to be acquired for Fire Station #4; and
WHEREAS, the Fire Department has approved the acquisition of
this property to provide for Fire Station #4, and concurs with the recommenda-
tion to acquire this parcel; and
WHEREAS, funds from Fire Fighting, Fire Prevention & Rescue
- Facility Bonds, as identified in Paragraph B, Subparagraph 3 of the General
Obligation Bond Appropriation Ordinance 18716, are available to acquire said
parcel; and
WHEREAS, the owner of the property has by Agreement dated the

8th day of June, 1978, offered to convey fee simple title to this property to
the City of Miami, Florida, for the negotiated price of Seventy Thousand ($70,000)
Dollars; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed in the best interests of the City of Miami,
Florida to acquire the property at this time through purchase in lieu of condemna-
tion;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City Manager be and he is hereby authorized and
directed to purchase the property located at 1131 Southwest Second Avenue,
Miami, Florida, legally described as:

Section 2. That Seventy=Two Thousand ($72,000.00) Dollars be
and it is hereby allocated from the Fire Fighting, Fire Prevention & Rescue
Facility Bond, as identified by Paragraph B, Subparagraph 3 of the General
Obligation Bond Appropriation Ordinance #8716, to cover the cost of acquisi-
tion of fee simple title to this property, and other costs incidental to
this acquisition.

Per memorandum dated August 17, 1977, from Chief D.A. Hickman, Director, Department
of Fire, authorization was received to acquire property for relocation of Fire
Station #4. This acquisition is the first of the four parcels involved for this
Fire Station.
Proposals for appraisals were solicited from nineteen (19) M.A.I. Appraisers, with
six (6) responses. The appraiser who submitted the lowest fee was awarded the
contract.
