The present Ordinance No. 8648 governing Orange Bowl
parking establishes a flat rate for passenger car and
recreational vehicle "season" parking for all pre -
scheduled U.M. and Miami Dolphins football games
respectively. These rates were developed by multiplying
$4.00 for passenger cars and $5.00 for recreational vehicles,
times the number of games that have traditionally been held
at the Orange Bowl. The University of Miami, however, has
only four (4) scheduled games to be played at the Bowl during
the 1978 "season", rather than the six (6) games played last
year.
Assuming that the number of games scheduled to be played
at the Orange Bowl by the University of Miami and the
Dolphins may vary from year to year, it is proposed that
the flat rate seasonal fees be repealed, and in their place,
the formula of $4.00 per passenger car and $5.00 per recrea-
tional vehicle multiplied by the number of games scheduled
to be played in a particular year, be implemented.
The Department of Stadiums and Marinas recommends the
adoption of the enclosed Ordinance further amending Sec. 39-24
of the Code as amended.
