WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Ordinance
No. 8716 on October 26, 1977, establishing; resources and
appropriations for the implementation of capital Improve-
ments in the Cite of ^Miami., Florida, for the fiscal year
ending- September 30, 1978; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Ordinance
No. 37*'4 on January 11, 1978, Ordinance No. 8745 on
January 24, 1978, Ordinance No. 8772 on March 9, 1978,
and Ordinance Ho. 8829 on July 27, 1978, amending Section 1
of Ordinance No. 8716; and
WHEREAS, bids were received on June 22, 1978
and awarded on July 27, 1978 for
FI,AGLER STREET HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT H-4372-A (3RD BIDDING)
and FLAGLER STREET HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT EXTENSION H-4391-A
(3RD BIDDING), and additional funds in the amount of $487,931
from the 1970 Highway G.O. Bond Fund, and $11,497 from the
1970 Storm Sewer G.O. Bond Fund, are needed to proceed with
the project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MMIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Section 1 of Ordinance No. 8716,
adopted October 26, 1977, as amended, is hereby further
amended as follows;l/

Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances
insofar as they are inconsistent or in conflict With the
provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3. If any section, part of section, paragraph,
clause, phrase, or word of this ordinance is declared invalid,
the remaininK provisions of this ordinance shall not be
affected.
Section U. The requirement of reading this ordinance
on two separate days is hereby dispensed with by a vote of
not less than four -fifths of the members of the Commission.

Attached is an Amendment to the Capital Improvement Appropriations
Ordinance for making adjustments in the 1970 Highway G.O. Bond
Fund and the 1970 Storm Sewer 0.0. Bond Fund. These adjustments
are needed to fund the Bid awarded by the Commission for the
Flagler Street Hi?hway Improvement H-4372-A and Flagler Street
Highway Improvement Extension H-4391-A on July 27, 1978.
Our total coot for this project is $639,215. Funds are to come
from the 1970 Hi,,h;•ray and Storm Sewer General Obligation Bond
accounts. The entire $639,215 will be funded by the City, and
will pay for some of the work under Fla;',ler Street Highway

A request to dispense with the requirement of reading on the

is estimated to start in October, 1978.
