BOND FUNDS" IN THE AMOUNT OF $97,473.85 ; AND AUTHORIZ- ING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH SAID FIRM WHEREAS, sealed bids were received on July 26, for COCONUT GROVE BUSINESS AREA DECORATIVE PEDESTRIAN CALE STREET LIGHTING PROJECT; and WHEREAS, the City Manager reports that the $97,473.85 bid of B & G Electric, Inc. is the lowest responsible bid and recommends that a Con- tract be awarded to said firm; and WHEREAS. the annual Capital Improvement Appropriation Ordinance No. 8716 as amended, was adopted on October 26, 1977, establishing resources and appropriations for the implementation of capital improvements in the City of Miami, Florida, for the fiscal year ending September 30, 1978; and WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 8829 dated July 27, 1978, amended Section 1 of the annual Capital Improvement Appropri- ations Ordinance No. 8716, as amended, by establishing a new project for COCONUT GROVE BUSINESS AREA,DE.CORATIVE_PEDESTRIAN- •- .� SCALE STREET LIGHTING PROJECT; and , WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 8829 made adjustments n the 1970 Highway General Obligation Bond Fund in the amount of $110 , 000; and -WHEREAS, the proposed amount of the Contract is'.. This project calls for the purchasing of material and the installation of a decorative pedestrian -scale street lighting system for the Business Area of Cocc:lut Grove within the City of Miami. The installation calls for approximately one hundred and thirty (130) decorative poles and luminaires, approximately six thousand feet of trenching, the installation of underground wiring, etc. If you have questions concerning this project, call Jack Stark; Street Light Engineer, at 579-6865. All bids shall be submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and Specifications. Contract Documents, including drawings and technical specifications, are open to public inspection and may be obtained from the Department of Public Works, 3332 Pan American Drive, Miami, Florida 33133. Plans and Specifications are to be returned in good order and unmarked within ten (10) days after bids have been received. The City Commission reserves the right to waive any infor- mality in any Bid, and the City Manager may reject any or all Bids, and readvertise. PROPOSAL includes the time of performance and SPECIFICA- TIONS contain provisions for liquidated damages for failure to complete the work on time. Each Bidder must deposit with his bid, security in the amount, form, and subject to the conditions provided in the Information to Bidders and in the Supplemental General Conditions.
