The project consists of accomplishing the following work: Dinner Key Marina: The removal and replacement of certain piles along with the banding and capping of others. Miamarina: The removal and replacement of certain piles along with the removal of others and the installation of some new piling. Dinner Key Marina is located at S.W. 27 Avenue and the Bay Miamarina is located at Port Boulevard and the Bay. For technical questions, call 579-6865, Ed Connor, Struc- tural Engineer. All bids shall be submitted in accordance with the Instruc- tions to Bidders and Specifications. Plans and Specifications may be obtained from the Office of the Director, Department of Public Works, 3332 Pan American Drive, Miami, Florida. Plans and Specifications are to be returned in good order and unmarked within 10 days after Bids have been received. Proposal includes the time of performance and Specifications contain provisions for liquidated damages for failure to complete the work on time. Those minority or target area contractors/small business interested in submitting bids are advised to contact Contractors Training and Development, Inc. for providing technical assistance in putting together bid packages. Grassie City Manager CITY OF MIAMI 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, Florida 33133 Dear Mr. Grassie: The Marina Operations Review Committee has passed the following resolution regarding the Dinner Key piling repairs and recommends to the City Commission the following: 1) That Bid "A" by the Dock and Marina Construction Company, dated July 17, 1978, be accepted in its entirety with one modification (Bid "A" concerns itself only with Dinner Key Marina). 2) Modification: Item 4 concerning the removal and replace- ment of the dolphin piling in the old Coast Guard Channel (6 pilings) at a cost of $5,442.00, be prorated among the users; i.e., Merrill Stevens,Monty Trainer, Biscayne Bay Yacht Club, Coral Reef Yacht Club, and Dinner Key Marina, for an equal share of $1,088.40 per user.
