Mullins Purchasing Agent st1niceT. 1 ts October 2, 1978 FILE• i / ' Recommendation for Resolution and Award of Bid: Temporary Bleacher Seats Fact Sheet and Resolution and Award of Bid Pursuant to Public Notice, sealed bids were received February 23, 1978 for furnishing rental of temporary bleacher seating at the Orange Bowl for the Department of Stadiums and Marinas. Invitations were mailed to ten potential suppliers and one bid was received.as; follows: Hialeah Grandstand, Inc. $50,600.00 Invitations were mailed early in the year in order to obtain a firm commtme the dates needed. Funds for this purchase are available in: 1978-79 Fiscal Year Operating Budget: $10,600.00 Miami Beach Tourist Development Authority: $15,000.00 Metropolitan Dade County: $15,000.00 Orange Bowl Committee: $10,000.00 Total: $50,600.00 In order to provide total seating of at least 80,000, the City agreed to install 4,600 temporary seats at the Orange Bowl for use at the January 21, 1979 Super Bowl Garne. The successful bidder has agreed to install the bleachers so they may also be utilized for the January 1 Orange Bowl Classic. It is recommended that the award be made and a resolution be passed accepting the most advantageous bid as received from Hialeah Grandstand, Inc. for furnishing 4,600 temporary seats on a rental basis for the 1979 Super Bowl Game at a total cost of $50,600.00. The Department of Stadiums and Marinas concurs with this recommendation.
