A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE WAIVING OF PLATTING
REQUIREMENTS AND AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF A
BUILDING PERMIT TO PERMIT THE CONSTRUCTION OF A
HOME FOR THE ELDERLY AT EL RETIRO CARROLL, LOCATED
ON A PORTION OF GOVERNMENT EXCESS LOT NO. 1
DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS AS FOLLOWS:
THE S. 320' OF THE W. 60' OF THE E. 822' OF EXCESS
GOVERNMENT LOT NO. 1 LYING BETWEEN TOWNSHIP 53 SOUTH,
RANGE 40 EAST AND TOWNSHIP 54 SOUTH, RANGE 40 EAST,
LYING SOUTH OF TAMIAMI CANAL LESS THE S. 35'THEREOF;
AND THE WEST 345' OF THE EAST 1107' OF EXCESS
GOVERNMENT LOT NO. 1, LYING BETWEEN TOWNSHIP 53
SOUTH, RANGE 40 EAST AND TOWNSHIP 54 SOUTH, RANGE
40 EAST, LESS THE SOUTH 320' THEREOF, SUBJECT TO
COMPLIANCE WITH ALL REQUIREMENTS SET FORTH BY THE
PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT AND THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI.
WHEREAS, Archbishop McCarthy of the Diocese of Miami
proposed to construct a Horde for the Elderly at the hereinafter
described property; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission deems it beneficial to the
public interest and welfare to waive the platting requirements and
to authorize the issuance of a building permit for the hereinafter
described property;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF

Section 1. The platting requirem` nos! f

located at El Retiro Carroll, located on a portion of Government
Excess Lot No. 1 described by metes and bounds as follows:
the S. 320' of the W. 60' of the E. 822' of Excess Government Lot
No,1, lying between Township 53 S. Range 40 E. and Township 54 S.
Range 40 E. lying south of Tamiami Canal less the S. 35' thereof
and the W. 345' of the E. 1107' of excess Government Lot No. 1,
Lying between Township 53 S. Range 40 E. and Township 54 S. Range
40 E. less the S. 320' thereof, be and the same are hereby waived.
Section 2. A Building Permit is hereby authorized
to permit construction of a Home for the Elderly on the
property more fully described in Section 1 hereof, subject to
1idnce with all te4uiretnefts set forth by the Iublit Works
tepattmett and the Building Department of the City of Miami,
1978,

of the City Commission of Miami, October 24, 1978.
The purpose of this request is to discuss the problem T have
had and continue to have with Intercounty Construction Company
and its use of property along the railroad right of way, between
S. W. 22nd Avenue and 24th Aven!re.
