(Buena Vista Park)
To provide for the development of Buena Vista Park.
This site was picked by staff in a 1974 city wide
survey as a potential Environmental Preservation
District. The PA13 approved it on April 2, 1975
and the City Commission approved it on May 22, 1975.
As the site is located on a commercial arterial,
preservation of the trees on the site in conformity
with the EPD guidelines would be difficult. City
ownership will insure preservation.
The surrounding neighborhood is comprised of
single family and duplex housing in fair condition.
The 1.4 acre park is intended to serve the area
bounded by N. 36th Street, NE 2nd Avenue, N 54th
Street and I-95. Within this area there are only
three small public open spaces: Pullman Mini -Park
and North and South Bay Vista - remnant I-95 parcels.
Edison Center and Lemon City Parks will be over 1/2
mile from this Park and will serve other areas.
Buena Vista is also targeted for concentrated
housing rehabilitation through the Grant Neigh-
borhoods program.
The site is vacant.
