A RESOLUTION CERTIFYING AND bECLARINC
THE REgULTS OF THE SPECIAL CHARTER
AMEND ILNT ELECTION HELD ON NOVEMBER 7;
1978 FOR THE PURPOSE OF VOTING FOR THE
RATIFICATION OR REJECTION OF THE FOLLOW
ING QUESTION: "SHALL SECTIONS 4(a)4 4(b)
AND 13(b) OF TI1E CHARTER OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BE AMENDED TO PROVIDE FOR AN ENLARGED
CITY COMMMISSION FROM FIVE TO NINE MEMBERS
WITH THt FOUR ADDITIONAL CITY COMMISSIONERS
TO BE ELECTED FROM FOUR DISTRICTS BEGINNING
WITH THE 1979 REGULAR MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS
WITH FURTHER PROVISIONS FOR A METHOD OF
ESTABLISHING THE SAID DISTRICTS AND FOR
A FOUR YEAR TERM OF OFFICE FOR SAID ADDI-
TIONAL COMMISSIONERS?", AS BEING A REJECTION
OF THE PROPOSED AMENDMENT.
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 78-530, passed and
adopted July 28, 1978, the Commission of the City of Miami,
Florida called and provided for a Special Municipal Election
to be held in, said City on November 7, 1978 for the purpose of
submitting the following question to the duly registered and
qualified electors of the City of Miami for their ratification
or rejection:

"Shall Sections 4(a), 4(b) and 13(b) of the
Charter of the City of Miami be amended to provide
for an enlarged City Commission from five to nine
members with the four additional City Commissioners
to be elected from four districts beginning with the
1979 regular municipal election, withfurther pro-
visions for a method of establishing the said dis-
tricts and for a four year term of office for sM

WHEREAS, the inspectors and clerks :of each precinct
in the City have made returns to the Commission on the results
of the election ini each such precinct on the question submitted
at said election and the returnsof said 'election have been
delivered and canvassed by the Commission in accordance with.th'e'
State law;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA;
