Attached please find a resolution increasing the allocation from
$42,000 to $66,559 in fourth year Community Development funds for
Wynwood Elderly Cehter, Inc. for the contract period commencing
July 1, 1978, and ending June 300 19,9
The resolution also authorizes the City Manager to enter into an
amended agreement With the identified agency,
The agency had applied and anticipated funds totaling $30,000 from
Comprehensive Employment Training Act (CETA) and Revenue Sharing.
Since the agency was deniedfunding by the aforementioned sources,
it would fail to have sufficient funds to continue operations as
of January l
Community Development has determinedthat this program provides an
essential service to the residents of the Wynwood Neighborhood Strategy
Area, and that discontinuation of such services would exert severe
hardships on the residents of the area.
It is requested that the City Commissioners be asked to approve this
resolution on December 14, 1978, so that funding for this agency will
not be interrupted.
