Only $10,000 was approved, where $ 17,500 was sought, Therefore, the proposed ordinance which, in part, appropriates anticipated revenue for the Kwanza Festival trust be changed to reflect actual funding from Dade County. The City of Miami is putting up $ 17,500 in cash: $10,000 to match Dade County and $ 7,500 to match the expected grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. I will monitor the progress of this program and will request that a detailed line -item budget be prepared and adhered to. Last year's program was quite successful, and I think the experienced gained in that effort will enable those in charge to do an even better job this time. 71) • t t ou 1:0',.! .2 2 tY ///, . ktcseph kl drassie, tity Mand§bf Hcward V, dary, birectorketb Management and budget Noildffibet it iqlq INtatita Legislahioh Please find attached proposed legislation relating to the kwan2a first and second year programs submitted for the November 9* 1978 city Commission meeting, This legislation.approptiates (1) an additional $700° from the National Endowment for the Arts to the first year Xwanza program increasing the funding to $31,000 and (2) $43,600 primarily from the County, city and National Endowment for the Arts for the second year Kwanza program, is MIAMi REVIEW APO DAM, REeDND ADMlilhed belly ltclgl Saturday, Sunday and Legal Holiday% Miernl, bade County, fti&tech.
