A RESoLtiTION ACCEPTING THE ATTACHED "PRELIMINARY DEVELOPMENT PLAN" AND EEASIRILTY STUDY POR A WORLD TRACE CENTER PR8 PARED HY MIAMI 'WORLD TRADE CENTER, INC, AND AUTHORtgtLki THE CITY MANAGER TO NEOoTIATE AN AGREEMENT WITH SAD :DEVELOPERS; PURTHER, DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO PROMPTLY PROCEED WITH THE CITY'S APPLICATION FOR AN UR3AN DEVELOPMENT ACTION O1ANT PROM THE DEPARTMENT OP HOUSING AND URi3AN DEVELOPMENT FOR THIS WORLD TRADE CENTER PROJECT; FURTHER, STIPULATING THAT THE AT'ORESAtb ACCEPTANCE AND Atr1 fORIZATtON ARE WITHOUT PREJUDICE TO THE RIGHT OF THE CITY TO LIMIT OR DISCONTINUE ITS SUPPORT OF THE WORLD TRADE CENTER CONCEPT AS AN ADJUNCT TO THE CITY CENTER PROJECT,' WHEREAS, the City Commission authorized by Motion No. 77-619 the undertaking of a feasibility study for the possible development f a World Trade Center in Downtown Miami by Miami World Trade Center, Inc.; and WHEREAS, the City Commission by'Resolution No.78-74 entered into an agreement with the private developer of the City's Conference Center Hotel, Miami Center Associates, Ltd., granting the developer first rights to develop the air rights of the Conference Center Garage; and WHEREAS, Miami Center Associates, Ltd., and Miami World Trade Center, Inc. have entered into a separate letter agreement to jointly develop a World Trade Center in Miami at the Conference Center Garage Site; and WHEREAS, the City Commission has entered into an agreement with the University of Miami by Resolution No. 77-103 to provide up to 300 parking spaces as required and WHEREAS, the City Commission has entered into an agreement with the private developer, Miami. Center Associates, Ltd., to provide up to Mz, FLORI 500 parking spaces as required; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE qMi s; `,�Tn C THE CITY arc ...., ITEM N�� Section 1. Thy' attached "Pxelimihary Aevelopment Plan" prepared by Miami world Trade Center, Inc, and its oonsuitants, which includes 4 Feasibility. Study is hereby acceptecd in p 'incip .e by the City, OF MITI! Section 2. The City Manager is hereby att`Nori2ec to negotiate a contract with the aforesaid developers for a World grade Center to be developed on top of the Coi'tference Center Garage and submit said contract to the City Commission for its approval Section 3. The City Manager is hereby directed to promp ly proceed with the City's application for a grant from the Department of Housing and Urban Development for this World Trade Center project. Section 4. The aforesaid acceptance and the aforesaid authori- zation are without prejudice to the right of the City to limit or discontinue its support of the World Trade Center concept as an adjunct to the City Center Project.
