OF MIAMI, FLORIDA
WHEREAS, the term of off ice of Mr. Manx b. Cauthen, oovered by
OffmStreet Parking Board Resolution No. 73" 4755 `and City Commits ion Reno"
will ex ire on December 2, 1978; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Marx D. Cauthen has been a resident of Miami since
19255.` in 1936, he was appointed as Business Administrator at Jackson Memorial
Hospital. From 1941 to 1949 he served as Chief Accountant for the City of
Miami In 1949 he joined Mary Macintosh Laundry Services of Miami, where he
served as Treasurer, Comptroller and a member of the Board of Directors
until his retirement. He was appointed to the OffStreet Parking Board in
1961; and
WHEREAS, the efforts, time and leadership :exhibited by Mr.
Cauthen have contributed to the growth and development of this area; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Cauthen was reappointed to the Off -Street Parking
Board on October 25-, 1978 by Off -Street Parking Board Resolution No. 78-5.79,
and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Miami that
this reappointment be confirmed;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The reappointment of Marx D. Cauthen to the Off-
Street Parking Board of the City of Miami, Florida, for a five year term
from December 2, 1978 to December 2, 1983, is hereby confirmed, pursuant
to Section 23-A.1 of the City of Miami Charter.

WHEREAS, a member shall be named and appointed by the remaining
members of the Board, subject to confirmation by the City Commission, for a
term of five years; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Marx D. Cauthen has been a resident of Miami since

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE OFF-STREET PARKING BOARD
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA.
Section 1. Marx D. Cauthon is hereby reappointed as a member of
the Off -Street Parking Board of the City of Miami, Florida, pursuant to
Sect ion 23-A.1 of the City of Miami Charter, for a term of five years which
will expire on December 2 , 1983.
Sect ion 2. The Board hereby recommends to the City Commission
that the reappointment of Marx D. Cauthen be confirmed .
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 25th day of October, 1978.

Draft of Proposed Resolution
At the Off -Street Parking Board meeting on October 25, 1973, Resolution
No.78-579 was passed, reappointing Mr. Marx O. Cauthen to the Off -Street.
Parking Board for a five-year terns, beginning December 2, 1978, and
recommending to the City Commission that Mr. Cauthen's reappointme1t be
confirmed.
Please ask the Law Department to prepare the appropriate resolution
and include this item on your next agenda: A rough draft of the pro-
posed resolution is attached,
