A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF JUELLE BROS,3 INC3 FOR FURNISHING DEMOLITION AND REMOVAL OF UNSAFE BUILDING FOR THE DEPARTMENT"oF BUILDING AND ZONING INSPECTION; AT A TOTAL COST OF $22,670,00; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT TARGET AREA WIDE DEMOLITION PROGRAM=, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND THE PURCHASING AGENT TO ISSUE THE PURCHASE ORDER FOR THIS SERVICE, WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received October 30, 1978 for the furnishing of demolition and removal of a three story CBS apartment building at 420-430 N.W. 9 Street for the Department of Building and Zoning Inspection; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to 18 potential suppliers and 6 bids were received and; WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in the Community Development Target Area Wide Demolition Program; and WHEREAS, this service will he used by the Department of Building and Zoning Inspection for the purpose of demolition and removal of unsafe building; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Department of Building and Zoning Inspection recommend that the bid received from Juelle Bros, Inc. be accepted as the most advantageous bid to the City; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, "DOCUMENT„I FLORIDA Section 1. Subject building, a three story. CBS apartment building, located at 420-430 N.W. 9 Street, is obsolete, deteriorated, and dangerous to the community. It is recommended that the award be made and a resolution be passed accepting the most advantageous bid as received from Juelle Bros., Inc. for furnishing demolition and removal of the three story building at 420-430 N.W. 9 Street: at a total cost of $22,670.00. The Department of Building and Zoning Inspection concurs with this recommendation.. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:- The Department of Building and Zoning Inspection and the Dade County Unsafe Structures Board have determined that the three story CBS building located at 420-430 N.W. 9 Street is unsafe, and dangerous to the community; and therefore, should be demolished and removed. Recovery of the cost to demolish will be through the normal lien procedures. RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the award be made to Juelle Bros, The Department of Building and Zoning Inspection concurs.
