AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A NEW TRUST AND AGENCY FUND ENTITLED: bINTERNATIONAL FOLK PESTIVALO APPROPRIATING THERETO AN AMOUNT or $15705 PROM THE GENERAL FUND; SPECIAL PROGRAMS AND ACCOUNTS; CITY-WIDE EVENTS; AND PROVIDING POR REVENUES THEREIN TO 8E COLLECTED AS PROCEEDS FROM FESTIVAL EVENTS; CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION AND A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Motion /8-675 on October 24, 1978, approving the International Folk Festival FY,78-79 Budget at requested by the Folk Festival Committee; namely, in the total amount of $34-,10 (in cash) and $18,000 (in in -kind services); and WHEREAS, Motion 78-676 authorizes and directs the City Manager to establish a Trust and Agency Fund for the purpose of appropriating all revenues generated from the International Folk Festival; and WHEREAS, Ordinance NO. 8858 adopted September 28, 1978, appropriated an amount of $19,000 in the Department of Tourism Promotion, Division of Promotional Activities - General for the purpose of providing funds to the International Folk Festival; and WHEREAS, funds are available in the General Fund, Special Programs and Accounts, City -Wide Events, and an amount of $15,705 (the balance of the' $34,705 approved by the Commission) can be transferred to a new line -item entitled, "International Folk FestiVa101 for the purpose of establishing a new Trust and Agency Fund; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA; Section 1, The following Trust and Agency Fund is hereby established and resources are hereby appropriatedas described herein; FUND TITLE; International Folk Festival REgNUU; jEecia Programs & Accounts - Clitx7Wide Events $15,705 19,000 $34,705 $34 7 Tourism Promotion TOTAL KVENOE5 APPROPRIATION) International Promotion Activities Gen Festival Section 24 All ordinances of parts af ardinantet intafar as they are , incansittent ar In conflict with the Provisions of this ardimanCe are hereby rePealed. International Folk Festival The attached propoted ordinance establishes a new Trust and Agency Fund entitled, "International Folk Festival° And appropriates thereto a tum of $34,705, The City Commitsion adopted Motion 78.675 which granted the international Folk FestiVal a cash contribution of:$34,705 for fiscal year 1978-79. At the time of the motion only $19,000 was appropriated for thts purpose which was,incTuded in the Tourism Promotion budget. HoweVer,' the City Commission authorized the appropriation of the balance - $15,705 from Special PrOgrams-and Accounts, City-wide -Events. The City Commission further required that all funds supporting this -event be placed in a:trust and agency fund.
