Two agents submitted duplicate bids and were the lowest of the five bids received.
Request was made of the St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Company as to which
local agent should be the Agent of Record and by letter dated January 10, 1979,
St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Company appointed Raymond W. Butler, Inc. as
the Agent of Record.
It is recommended that the bid as submitted by the St. Paul Fire and Marine
Insurance Company through its local agent, Raymond W. Butler, Inc., be awarded
the contract to provide insurance coverage for a three year period on the Data
Processing Equipment valued at $6,484,000.00 said equipment being located at the
Miami Police Department, 400 N. W. 2 Avenue, at an annual premium of $10,050. The
alternate bid as submitted from St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Company was
rejected as the savings in premium would not be commensurate with the difference in
deductible of $20,000.00.
This is a multiple peril policy that insures against all risks of direct physical
loss or damage to the Data Processing Equipment irrespective of any other coverage
that may be extended by other policies.
